Cannabinoid Potency Test

A potency test is the most common analysis done on cannabis flowers, concentrates, and edibles. The potency test will determine the percentage of cannabinoids in your product. Here at Pre Med Testing we look for certain cannabinoids such as, THC-A, ^9-THC, CBD, CBD-A, and CBN. This is important knowledge for patients, cultivators, and retailers, who must know how strong the cannabis is, and understand the amounts of different cannabinoids present in each sample. The patients need to be presented with the most accurate results, this way they can determine which cannabinoid fits there needs best.

At Pre Med Testing we use High Performance Liquid Chromatography, which is better know as an HPLC. There are other machines that you can use for a potency test, most common is the GC, with this instrument it will heat the sample, which will not allow you to test for THC-A, because THC-A is heat sensitive it will cause the THC-A to decarboxylate into THC. The HPLC is the fastest and most accurate method for analyzing potency of cannabis.
